Westmeadows Location Placement Sessions
Sunday 11th December - Competitive Cheer Team Placements
  • 1:30pm to 2:30pm
    Competitive team athletes aged 4-8 years, all levels of ability
  • 2:00pm to 3:30pm
    Competitive team athletes aged 9-14 years, all levels of ability
  • 3:30pm to 4:30pm
    Competitive team athletes aged 15+ years, all levels of ability
Northcote Location Placement Session
Sunday 11th December - Competitive Cheer Team Placements
  • 9:00am to 10:00am
    Competitive team athletes aged 4-8 years, all levels of ability
  • 9:30am to 11:00am
    Competitive team athletes aged 9-14 years, all levels of ability
  • 11:00am to 12:30pm
    Competitive team athletes aged 15+ years, all levels of ability
Monday 12th December - Worlds Level Cheer Team Placements
  • 7:30pm to 9:30pm - Lady Reign Session
    Competitive team athletes aged 15+ years, level 4+ experience
  • 8:15pm to 10:00pm - Interstellar Session
    Competitive team athletes aged 15+ years, level 4+ experience
    *This team intends to compete at the 2023 world championships in April 2023

 

Tuesday 13th December - Worlds Level Cheer Team Placements

 

  • 7:30pm to 9:30pm - Legacy Session
    Competitive team athletes aged 17+ years, level 5+ experience
    *This team intends to compete at the 2023 world championships in April 2023 

 

Please Note:
1. Athlete age is deemed as turning the stated age on or before 31/12/2023

2. Tryouts are $20 per person for new athletes which will cover you for all sessions you attend, this fee will be deducted from your club registration fee if you choose to join the club in 2023.

3. If you are unable to attend the placement days, limited private tryouts can be arranged. These will be at a cost of $30 per athlete, please email - info@southerncrosscheer.com.au for further information.

4. There is no need to attend a placement session if you are a SCC member continuing with their 2023 cheer team.

WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH LEVEL OF CHEER?

You don't need any previous experience to join one of our cheer teams, we are well versed at showing new athletes the ropes, however below is a skill list athletes will need to master to be considered for the next level.

 

RETURNING ATHLETES

There is no need to attend a placement session if you want to stay on your current team. If you have mastered the skills for a higher level, then you can request a placement review. This can be done by responding to the athlete survey or attending a placement session.

The below picture shows options are available to our returning athletes.

WORLDS TEAMS

Please make sure the coaches are aware of your interest in one of our worlds teams prior to the start of your session. We still have places available on all teams, including the following worlds teams;

Legacy - International Open Large Coed Level 7

For this team we are looking for male and female athletes with level 5+ tumbling and/or stunting skills, you must be turning 17 years or older in 2023 to be considered for this team.

Lady Reign - International Open Level 5

For this team we are looking for female athletes with level 4+ tumbling and/or stunting skills, you must be turning 15 years or older in 2023 to be considered for this team.

Interstellar - International Open Coed Level 6 Non-Tumble

For this team we are looking for male and female athletes with level 5+ stunting skills, you must be turning 15 years or older in 2023 to be considered for this team.
